Why did you give us money? January update & a request for help
Published on January 16, 2022 by mole

Dear solidarity fund supporters,

We're writing with a quick update, and a small request.

Firstly, we're hugely grateful for every donation that's come in over the past month. We've had donations ranging from £1 to £1000, and each is precious to us for what it represents. The total amount we've disbursed is now over £9000!

(if you're confused by the above...)

Secondly, our request. As ever, the more word spreads about the fund, the more people apply for grants from us. We've just had to pause new applications again while we wait for donations to catch up.

If you're reading this, you've probably already contributed to the fund, and we realise you may well already be giving as much as you can, so we're not asking for more money. Instead, we're asking for an answer to a quick question - why did you donate to us?

Giving to a solidarity fund will be a new concept for some people, and seeing others explain what inspired them will help more people feel confident themselves, inspiring more donations. Your response can be a sentence, or some longer thoughts. We'll use your responses on our social media and donor outreach, so you can be anonymous if you like, or use initials or a pseudonym.

Drop us a quick email at [email protected], tweet us @SolidarityCam, or hit the comment button under this post to tell us your thoughts about what donating means to you.

Once again, thanks so much for your support, and we look forward to hearing from you!
