Hi. I'm the author of the swc project.
Swc tries to make development faster, by reimplementing web build tools in rust, which is a very fast language.

It tries to replace babel, webpack and terser.
For babel part, it currently supports almost all compatibility transforms of babel, and my plan is to allow using babel plugins without any changes to the plugin.
Currently, swc-to-babel ast converter is WIP.

For webpack part, I made a tree-shaking ecmascript bundler named spack. The bundler is also used by deno, and it is a flattening bundler, which moves all top-level items of each modules to top-level of the output.
I want to implement support for a js-based custom loader.
Note that the bundler is also used by deno (http://deno.land/)

Also, the javascript minifier is WIP. About half of tests copied from terser pass. When it's finished, I'm sure that it'll greatly reduce the build time of many projects.

I've been working for it for several years. If I get some funding, I'll use it for

- working on it full-time
- giving some rewards to contributors (Recently some guys started contributing)
