Dear People of Culture,
Crows Nest Sacred Space welcomes and invites YOU, however you are, feeling any kind of way, into rest and celebration through community and liberative practice.
We offer you the opportunity to join us for a sunset gratitude ceremony, pouring water libations in gratitude to the Ancestors for life and all it's gifts; a morning check-in circle and afternoon co-napping space. We're also leaving lots of room for whatever comes up. Including nothingatall!
Our all PoC crew have been busy all winter and spring creating a truly, beautifully connected container for the multi-layered, many-faceted experience we are bringing for you. We are ready to welcome you in for a cup of tea, a good conversation, a listening ear, the chance to freshen up, a comfy chair, a place at the altar or the fire, a quiet read, the chance to move and embody, a loud laugh.. who knows what else? All this freely offered to YOU, sibling.
Crows Nest was born of a desire to honour, hold and process the pain of racial oppression whilst, at the same time, feeling an irresistible urge to celebrate the resilience and creativity that can florish under such conditions.
An understanding that the heavy weight of history's telling is not the whole story. We are ready to hold grief, rage, resentment... all of that. It is welcome with Crow's Nest.
AND We want to revel in the joy, colour, vibrancy and community that comes alongside and within our diverse cultures.
We know that each of us is a sacred being, made up of and standing at the front of a rich ancestry.
We acknowledge and honour the whole variety of life.
We also acknowledge that this might feel like willful exclusion to those not invited. This is a place for those racialised as non-white to be in a rare space that is free from white gaze. Our invitation to anyone who feels problematic stuff rising in them is to take it to the fire. The TrAd village fire is the perfect place for all of us to explore these risings in a communally held way.
