The OCF team will be taking time off from December 22nd, 2023 to January 2nd, 2024. Any expenses submitted during this time will be processed starting January 2nd, 2024.
1. What did you accomplish during 2023? How did you use money?
ABQ Free fridge helped me start a Community Resource Booth at the Downtown Grower's Market (DGM) to support those experiencing homelessness and mental health instability. The booth handed out 226 bags, serving about 100 individuals and families.
2. What challenges did you face during 2023? What did your Collective learn? How did you change or grow?
I faced challenges with shifting culture with local farmers who participate in the market. I will work towards building stronger relationships to create an atmosphere of community care. We learned that the unhoused felt safe and returned due to the welcoming environment of the Community Resource Booth. The booth changed the relationship with those experience public hardship into a trusting and safe environment.
3. What are your plans for 2024? Anything exciting coming up?
My plans are to continue the work with DGM and continue changing perceptions of the unhoused in downtown area making food accessible.

It took some time (don't ask!) but I finally figured out what to do! I posted on our home page and am posting our report here as well.
1. What did you accomplish during 2023? How did you use money? Raw increased the frequency that we gather for meetings, continued to struggle together as manifestations of racism reappeared/appeared in new ways. We continued to be active organizers and raised money for two Undoing Racism workshops offered by the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond (PISAB), which covered expenses for both Raw members and outside community members.
2.What challenges did you face during 2023? What did your Collective learn? How did you change or grow? Challenges included having members in multiple time zones and developing a collective analysis of current events based in anti-racist principles. We are continuing to learn to develop our individual and collective voices with mutual respect. We are continuing to see how white supremacy shows up in struggles around the globe, such as in Israel/Palestine.
3. What are your plans for 2024? Anything exciting coming up? Plans include continuing bi-monthly meetings and organizing for an in-person retreat. We are also looking for new ways to fund-shift in the service of undoing racism.
