Thanksgiving at Project Roomkey
Last week we hosted a Thanksgiving event for folks at two nearby Project Roomkey sites. Our friends at Hunger Action LA supported the event by providing catered food. While folks at encampments typically get a lot of food during Thanksgiving, people in Project Roomkeys are still not getting fed anything.

Over 25,000 pounds diverted from landfills
We are at 25,925 pounds of food diverted from landfills since May 2021. This equals 2152 pounds of methane saved from our atmosphere, 22,343 carbon dioxide emissions, & 1995 days of electricity. But most importantly, our actions feed people on a consistent basis.

450+ meals created
In October, we started a new food recovery effort by recovering prepared food to reheat and repackage into individual meals for unhoused folks on Palms Unhoused Mutual Aid's outreach route. In the past two months, we have recovered and prepared 484 meals so far. We are really excited to recover more prepared food as we grow our efforts!

Resource Center
We continue to support LA Neighbors for Neighbors' Resource Center by paying for their ingredients to create delicious homemade meals (wonderfully prepared by Chef Noah from Universal Human Rights Initiative)!

Fundraising Goals
We are currently raising money for more cookware, to-go supplies, & food. All donations are tax deductible. We spend about $500 a month on these items, so recurring donations are especially helpful to our work.
