Hello FFC Community,

We celebrated our one year anniversary back in June and have been growing ever since! We are currently at 21,755 pounds of food diverted from landfills. That's 1806 pounds of methane prevented from entering our atmosphere! To better understand the devastating effects throwing away food has on our environment, this amount of food saved from landfills is equal to 4.5 years of electricity consumption for one household or 162 petrol tanks. 

Beyond the devastating impacts wasting food has on our environment, this practice of growing food and throwing it away is stolen labor & time. Farm Workers harvest crops tirelessly in high heat and dangerous weather conditions while earning wages that can't even afford to purchase the food that they pick. 

New Partnership:
We began a partnership with LA Neighbors for Neighbors, an organization that puts on a monthly resource center for unhoused folks living in West LA. We have supported this group since they began a year ago by inviting the folks on our distribution map to the monthly resource center. This previous month we donated money to purchase their food for the month. We hope to further this relationship in the months to come!
