About
Hi Everyone
Wyre Forest is way behind the times when it comes to Disability, Equality, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and I am passionate to drive change for the better.
My name is Mark Watkins and I am disabled and a carer for my wife Pauline, we are a husband and wife team and both of us have to use mobility equipment to get around and know all the barriers and obstacles that disabled people in Wyre Forest face on a daily basis and over the last 10 years, it has not got any better, we are still overlooked and ignored which needs to change.
I am fully qualified in computing achieving a B-Tec level 3 in software development at Worcester College of Technology and a BSc in web and graphic design, database management and system analysis at University of Worcester.
I want to share my experience and would like to run weekly educational workshops for the disabled, the elderly, families and LGBTQ community starting at the beginner level covering using the internet, email, FaceTime, social media etc for our local community for more diverse and inclusive community.
We would also like to run an advice centre for local community to provide help and support for everyone in our community with their benefits; PIP, DLA, ESA, HB, UC and services OT, DFG, and Motability and Blue Badge forms, we have been through it all and it could make life a little easier.

Wherever we go; shops, companies and organisations both private sector and public are not up to standard and we want to change that through education and assessment.
We have some great ideas in the pipeline so we could really do with your help and support on our journey to help us make Wyre Forest not only a better place but a more disabled friendly, diverse, equitable and inclusive place to live.
