Important: Temporary Pause of Transactions
Published on March 16, 2024 by Gowanus Residents

Dear all,

As many of you know, our current fiscal host Open Collective Foundation is closing. While we will continue to use the Open Collective technology platform (which is a separate company from the foundation, and will remain in operation), we are transitioning to a new fiscal host, Pact Collective.

We are relieved that this transition will be relatively quick and with minimal impact to our activities, but please note a temporary pause on receiving donations and processing reimbursements & payments through Open Collective. We are awaiting a precise timeline, but all the wheels are in motion, and we will keep you posted.

  • If you are a donor, please keep an eye out for communications regarding recurring donations. There will be instructions to continue your contributions to Gowanus Mutual Aid after our new fiscal host is in place.

  • If you are expecting reimbursement/payment, please be patient. Please do not submit any new requests through Open Collective until we send our next update that we’re up and running with our new fiscal host.

Thank you,
Gowanus Mutual Aid

I think I've moved into a different area in Brooklyn and would need to contact a different mutual aid group, but I got help from you and that was great! I'm sure you have such fast new financial backing because of the great job that you continually do for people who need assistance.
Just keep on on keeping on!

Should I go ahead and submit a new request?

Hi Sarah, I don’t know if you’re getting my message so I am commenting here in hopes you see this. Thanks

This organization has almost $30,000 for mutual aid but they reject my request to turn my electricity back on. This is not mutual aid. The person sits from a privileged space.  How would you feel if you had no electricity and a mutual aid has $30,000 and reject you. 😭😭😭😭😭
