Happy New Year

Hi, fellow siductioneers,
let me first wish a happy new year to all our contributors, to all siduction users and to all mankind. May peace prevail.
Let's first look back a bit and then let's look ahead to 2024. In the past few years, we always had a release of siduction around the Christmas holidays. The team debated doing this again, but it did not really make sense. The reason for that is the upcoming Plasma 6, deemed for release on Feb. 28. There are two beta releases out so far, things are looking good, but there are no packages in DEB format, that would allow us to release a preview version of things to come.
So we decided to wait until we can easily put together a release based on Plasma 6. If we do a preview release depends on the time, when a full set of packages will be available. If that happens soon, we might do a preview. If it is close to release, we might wait until final release, test and the do a full siduction release instead of a preview. In any case, I can assure you, there are quite a few functions to look forward to.
If you want to look at all the new stuff in Plasma 6 now, you can do so by looking at KDE neon unstable. It is looking mighty good already.
That's all I have for today. Soon we shall find out if we will be at the Chemnitzer Linuxtage 2024 exhibition on March 16 and 17.
