Maplewood, New Jersey – June 19, 2024 – In celebration of Pride Month and the power of unity, Support Inclusion in Tech (SiNC) is proud to announce a new grant program designed to uplift and empower all voices within the global WordPress community.

Four grants of $240 USD each will be awarded to individuals in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the United States who have demonstrated significant contributions to the WordPress community through their involvement in local meetups or code contributions.

"This initiative is a testament to our belief in the transformative power of investing in the people behind the code and community," said Winstina Hughes, founder of Support Inclusion in Tech. "Through our support of these community members, we are strengthening the bonds that unite us as WordPress contributors."

To kickstart the program, the first grant recipient will be selected from India, a country with a thriving WordPress community and notable women leaders championing diversity, equity and inclusion.

The grant program is open to all WordPress contributors, regardless of background. WordPress contributors can opt into a named directory starting in January 2025, and selections will be made in March 2025. Names will be entered into a random name picker for selection 

This initiative aligns with SiNC's ongoing commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion within the WordPress community. In addition to the grant program, SiNC remains centered on providing financial support to underrepresented speakers through WordCamp travel expense reimbursement and a mentorship program.
