At Teachers for Peace (TFP) Afghanistan, our mission is to ensure that Afghan girls have access to education and to support the heroic educators who make this possible. In a country where education for girls faces brutal restrictions, we strive to keep the flame of learning and hope alive.
The Situation in Afghanistan
The reality for Afghan girls and women is dire. They are subjected to severe and inhumane barriers to education due to oppressive restrictions. Many secondary schools have been shut down, and opportunities for higher education have been almost entirely obliterated. Despite these bleak circumstances, the desire for knowledge endures, and teachers remain resolute in their efforts to make a difference.
Challenges Include:
Restricted Access to Schools: Countless girls are barred from attending formal education due to enforced closures and bans. Risks for Educators: Teachers face immense hurdles, including a critical lack of resources and threats to their personal safety.
