About
“The Power of Listening” is a short course (2 meetings, each 1.5 hours long) designed to create a space for deep, active, and generative listening.
What to Expect:
You will participate in pair or small group exercises inspired by the Focusing practice of “Focusing peer exchanges,” combined with elements from the 4 Levels of Listening from Theory U. The storyteller will learn to pay attention to the “felt sense” while telling their story, allowing fresh insights to emerge. Meanwhile, the story listener will learn how to listen with an open mind, open heart, and open will.
This experience nurtures self-empathy and empathy, and over time, it opens up new perspectives.
During the sessions, you will be invited to use body sculptures and movement as forms of playback and resonance. After the session, you will write a short poem as a creative way to reflect on and deepen the experience.
Benefits:
You will enhance your self-awareness and self-empathy.
You will discover how to pay attention to the body’s meaningful sensations (the “felt sense”).
You will practice and improve your capacity to listen to others with non-judgment, curiosity, compassion, and courage.
