I’ve gotten help in moments of desperate need in the past from you guys and the community has helped me in more ways than financial (friendship and sense of safety being just some of them.

Unfortunate circumstances meant that I couldn’t continue my university experience (this happened out of nowhere and I didnt have the full decision on this until very recently from the Uni). Due to my physical and mental health, I have not been able to find a suitable job since then, despite actively trying very hard. I have no income or help. As a disabled person, im currently beginning to look into getting benefits as I am not fit for work as it stands. This process of educating myself, making the applications and switching GPs which is also necessary will take me a while and I would appreciate some help so that I can eat something besides snacks my friends occasionally get me, or cereal and ramen packets which I’m barely able to afford at this point and is the only thing I buy for food.

As I said, I should be able to get benefits to procide me help more long term and help me stabilise my life so that I can find a way to function with my disabilities, but for now the process takes a while and for a few weeks or so, i wont be able to get an advance yet on my benefit payments, meaning I cannot cover bills, rent and food. In the cost of living crisis, I expect no help from you guys towards my bills and rent (this is slmething Ill have to figure out alternatively of course) but it would be very helpful just to get food covered so I can have some fruit and veggies maybe (as you can imagine my current food supply isn’t very good for me or my body). Thank you and I hope this all makes sense :)

Expense policies
We accept claims for the cost of medications, food, transport to appointments, counselling and anything related to your transition. We also support trans, nonbinary, and intersex (TIN) folk with bills and living expenses. We do not currently accept claims for money for pet expenses.

If you are applying for the first time, please provide the first half of your postcode and a link to one of your social media accounts in the "additional invoice information" box. This is to verify your identity and prevent scammers from taking money from trans people.

Please also let us know how much you need (max. £60 per month) and what you need it for (eg. bills, food, debt etc etc) in the "additional invoice information" box.

We don't allow reoccurring grants set through open collective, we ask that you don't set your grant to reoccur automatically as it adds strain to our grant team and can create duplicate expenses.

For our full policy, please read the below document for full requirements when submitting for funding. https://transaid.cymru/types-of-grants/
