Hi I’m Aiden (they/them), I’m transmasc (sometimes non-binary), low income but just don’t meet the criteria for help with paying for an eye test on NHS. So having to go private, been trying to save for ages but just can’t get the funds together. My current prescription is 4 years out of date and my eyesight is worsening, my frames I currently own just no longer suit me and my gender presentation so I avoid wearing them completely, when really I need to.
I’m also well overdue a real haircut and not resorting to chopping it with kitchen scissors over my sink out of desperation. Being able to pay for these things to be done professionally would really help me feel a bit more comfortable in myself, so I’d be really grateful. Thank you.
The amount I have entered is an estimated total for both of these things (based on best available info from my local opticians and preferred hairdresser).

Expense policies
We accept claims for the cost of medications, food, transport to appointments, counselling and anything related to your transition. We also support trans, nonbinary, and intersex (TIN) folk with bills and living expenses. We do not currently accept claims for money for pet expenses.
If you are applying for the first time, please provide the first half of your postcode and a link to one of your social media accounts in the "additional invoice information" box. This is to verify your identity and prevent scammers from taking money from trans people.
Please also let us know how much you need (max. £60 per month) and what you need it for (eg. bills, food, debt etc etc) in the "additional invoice information" box.
We don't allow reoccurring grants set through open collective, we ask that you don't set your grant to reoccur automatically as it adds strain to our grant team and can create duplicate expenses.
