Hi there my name's Jessica Salander and I'm a trans woman. I currently live in Llanelli with my fiancé Beauregard who is non binary. We've been handed a bill from our gas provider that has put us both in fear that we may lose where we're living if we're not able to pay the next months rent. I suffer with a few disabilities, which I am currently in receipt of PIP/UC payments for, as well as my fiancé being on Carers allowance as they are my sole carer.

We've been living in our current property for almost a year now. We have had issues with our landlord not completing repairs for our property. Due to this, we're doing our best to leave the current residency and try and relocate to a quieter more secure location with a better rental price.

Due to the repairs not being completed on our property, we have had to use more on our heating than we would have liked. Unfortunately, our property is fitted with a smart meter and we were not informed until recently that our meter reading estimates were being severely underestimated. After submitting a reading, they sent us a gas bill of around £706. Our rent being £750 already, this has caused major issues for us financially. I'm really worried we won't be able to pay our rent, as is my fiancé.

I completely understand if we aren't able to receive the full grant we are asking for, but at this rate, anything to help us would be really appreciated.

Kind regards
Jessie

Expense policies
We accept claims for the cost of medications, food, transport to appointments, counselling and anything related to your transition. We also support trans, nonbinary, and intersex (TIN) folk with bills and living expenses. We do not currently accept claims for money for pet expenses.

If you are applying for the first time, please provide the first half of your postcode and a link to one of your social media accounts in the "additional invoice information" box. This is to verify your identity and prevent scammers from taking money from trans people.

Please also let us know how much you need (max. £60 per month) and what you need it for (eg. bills, food, debt etc etc) in the "additional invoice information" box.

We don't allow reoccurring grants set through open collective, we ask that you don't set your grant to reoccur automatically as it adds strain to our grant team and can create duplicate expenses.

For our full policy, please read the below document for full requirements when submitting for funding. https://transaid.cymru/types-of-grants/
