I lost my job in early December and have been unable to find a new one despite my efforts. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to a laptop, as I was using my work device while employed, and my personal laptop is beyond repair.
I am also a male-to-female transgender woman, which adds unique challenges to my situation.
I plan to use this money for:
- Buying discounted groceries to stretch my budget.
- Getting a second-hand laptop to apply for jobs and attend interviews.
- Supporting myself until I can access unemployment benefits, as my rent has left me with nothing :(
- Covering essential prescriptions, including estrogen gel.
I tried to dispute what I could with ex-employer, but I didn't received any consessions at all, and been left with nothing :(

How are expenses approved?
Collective admins are notified when an expense is submitted, and they can approve or reject it.
Is my private data made public?
No. Only the expense amount and description are public. Attachments, payment info, emails and addresses are only visible to you and the admins.
When will I get paid?
Payments are processed by the Collective's Fiscal Host, the organization that hold funds on their behalf. Many Fiscal Hosts pay expenses weekly, but each one is different.
Why do you need my legal name?
The display name is public and the legal name is private, appearing on receipts, invoices, and other official documentation used for tax and accounting purposes.
