Expense policies
We require a receipt of payment of dues to the AAUP, as well as some evidence of your teaching at the New School (e.g. a screenshot of a recent or future course, a link to a faculty page, or a screenshot of an email). There may be situations where we do not have enough funds to support all requests in full, in which case, we will partially reimburse your dues. It is best to contact us beforehand, and we can tell you how much we are able to support at that time.  We request that you sign up for AAUP at $30,000 or less monthly income band ($67 annual dues). If you are in between teaching appointments at the New School, you are still eligible for the fund. However, if you no longer intend to teach at the New School or cease to be affiliated with it, we ask that you not request support from this fund. You must be a contingent faculty member to receive support from this fund and without a full-time teaching appointment.

How do I get paid from a Collective?
Submit an expense and provide your payment information.
How are expenses approved?
Collective admins are notified when an expense is submitted, and they can approve or reject it.
Is my private data made public?
No. Only the expense amount and description are public. Attachments, payment info, emails and addresses are only visible to you and the admins.
When will I get paid?
Payments are processed by the Collective's Fiscal Host, the organization that hold funds on their behalf. Many Fiscal Hosts pay expenses weekly, but each one is different.
Why do you need my legal name?
The display name is public and the legal name is private, appearing on receipts, invoices, and other official documentation used for tax and accounting purposes.
