1. PROBLEM STATEMENT:
LACK OF CLIMATE CHANGE INFORMATION A FATAL RISK TO LOCAL POPULATIONS.

climate change continues to bend, curve and deter progress in Zambia. Low levels of climate risks effects and community based solutions is too high among most vulnerabilities populations. Over 60% of people this year alone are expected to be affected by unprecedented floods in several vulnerable landscape. Of these children and the elderly are expected to suffer more among otter losses of food and infrastructure. 

Lack of awareness stunt larger population’s understanding of climate change effects resulting in casual human activities of deforestation and unsustainable land use. In a developing country where over 86% of people depend of Agriculture, lack of climate change awareness by its self a threatening risk factor the actual climate change effects.

Local populations who surfer severe storms, deaths by floods, droughts and crop damage by extreme weather conditions lack dependable information to counter climate change and mitigate future effects.

2. The first step to achieve environmental and social justice is climate change adequate information, equality and collective power. 

-Lack of this approach to curb the existing status-quote renders not only the current efforts by government and non-actors futile but unrealistic. Today over 90% of most affected people are not integrated into the the the climate change fight and unaware of what’s happening to the once safe sound and sustainable environment. This challenge presents resistance by those most affected to partner in the fight against climate change owing to lack of adequate awareness and and critical information on halting, reversing and prevention. 

-Lack of spaces for youths to fully engage in issues of climate change and fully participate through transformative education system is another threatening to the present generation whose future is speedily melting away.

- Our project seeks to creates environmental watch groups for youths and populations living in threatened ecosystem.
-To harness the power of youth and frontline agents of justice by connecting them and build their capacities. These groups will be equipped and empowered with modern skills to identify environmental threats and how to document them at local level. They will be skilled to raise red flags 🚩 and to engage regional environmental watch networks for direct action and engagements for justice. 

- We seek support to create and build digital capacity of 50 environmental watch groups in, 4 of the most of all provinces of Zambia.
