About

CCPAST was set up by a group of professionals working in child safeguarding across various sectors- health, education and child protection. We recognised that our statutory child protection framework, including legislation and guidance, intrinsically addresses climate risks/ harms to children in their communities but it is not being applied. This can also be seen in the development of climate legislation, which did not involve representation of children and young people's needs.

We are working to build awareness and educate relevant professionals, parents and communities around the risks/ harms to children presented by climate breakdown and how to advocate using legal and statutory pathways to address these.
