About
We will be breaking from our normal project nights for a film showing of the wonderful documentary, CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap
"CODE documentary exposes the dearth of American female and minority software engineers and explores the reasons for this gender gap. CODE raises the question: what would society gain from having more women and minorities code?"
You can watch the trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VVb6M8pTvE
- We know that tech is not an inclusive place for everyone. This documentary helps raise awareness on some of these issues
- The movie specifically addresses the experience of people who do not identify as men. It focuses on gender as the binary of either man or woman, instead of the full gender spectrum. Please keep this in mind as we watch the film.
- We will have time for discussion at the end of the film. We highly encourage this viewing for everyone, whether in tech, or not
NOTE: We will be meeting at Turing instead of our normal Galvanize
