About
Walk Together System Navigators Programme 2025
Equipping Future Leaders for Systemic Change
The 2025 Walk Together System Navigators Programme equips leaders with the skills to navigate systemic change in culturally responsive ways. As our world rapidly shifts—merging traditional knowledge with digital and technological advancements as one example—means that leaders must be adept at balancing innovation while safeguarding things like cultural values, kawa, tikanga, and Indigenous pedagogies, methodologies, ngā taonga tuku iho and ways of knowing and doing.
This programme strengthens intercultural facilitation, walking with leaders as they navigate the complexities between cultures, such as the intersection of technology-driven systems and relational, collective leadership. By increasing the number of skilled Māori and Pasifika facilitators, we are investing in leadership that can influence governance, policy, and institutional structures while upholding cultural integrity.
Growing Capacity & Bridging Worlds
Walk Together fosters the development of intercultural competency by growing leaders who can bridge gaps between diverse systems and knowledge bases. This includes:
- Navigating the relationship between traditional knowledge and emerging technology, ensuring cultural wisdom is not lost in digital transformation.
- Strengthening the ability to facilitate across different value systems—bridging the gap between transactional, data-driven approaches and relational, kaupapa-driven leadership.
By developing leadership and facilitators who can hold space for diverse perspectives and ensure equitable decision-making, Walk Together provides a tangible pathway for leaders to work within and across systems, ensuring that future leadership, governance and decision-making processes are deeply rooted in cultural equity.
