About
Passport is authentication middleware for Node.js. It lets developers quickly add authentication to their applications and APIs using a variety of methods: passwords, social login including Facebook and Google, standard protocols including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, and biometrics via WebAuthn.
Passport is the most popular authentication framework for Node.js, downloaded over 2 million times per week from npm. It can be seamlessly integrated with popular web frameworks, including Express and Next.js. Passport itself provides a flexible API for adding new authentication methods, and the community has developed over 500 strategies.
