About
Description
We are collaborating to create a sensory dye garden at The Kintsugi Garden Project - a disability friendly allotment in Keyham. This garden will create experiences which stimulate all of the senses; sight, sound, taste, smell and touch. We will also be able to create a dye garden within this garden which will allow us to learn about natural dyes and in which we will be providing workshops for the local community.
Purpose of Funding
A sensory dye garden offers another element to the Kintsugi Garden Project which will allow for a space to engage the senses, slow down from the pressures of life and offer a space to feel calm and connect with nature in a mindful way. The natural dye workshops will lend themselves to building a community of wellness and offer a space for learning and sharing together. The garden will have a Permaculture approach, and along the journey participants will learn about an environmentally friendly approach to gardening which benefits people as well as the local wildlife.
Describe how your Collective formed
Our collectives formed to offer a project within Keyham which combines our knowledge of wellness approaches with the healing benefits brought about when working in nature. We want to provide a project which gives access to these wellness spaces to those with physical and mental disabilities. We believe Keyham to be a place where we can make a positive long-term impact and where the community and ourselves can also learn and benefit from each other’s experience.
