## Building cooperative infrastructures for the digital economy

Platform Coops eG is a worker-owned cooperative based in Berlin. We design and support organizations and ecosystems in which ownership, responsibility and economic participation are shared among the people involved.

Our work brings together cooperative entrepreneurship, democratic governance, sustainable financing and open digital infrastructure. We support founders, established businesses, cooperatives and networks from the initial idea through implementation.

## What we do

### Build Platform Coops

We support teams in founding and developing cooperatives and platform coops—from initial orientation to business models, governance, statutes, financing and registration. We also accompany existing organizations that want to transition towards cooperative ownership.

### Workers’ Buyouts

We help employees take over and continue businesses as cooperatives. Our support covers the entire transition: information, participation, governance, financing, founding and the development of a viable employee-owned organization.

### Cooperative Ecosystems & Finance

We help organizations, cooperatives and networks turn shared challenges into sustainable cooperation, platform and business models. Our approach combines ecosystem mapping, platform design, governance, business modelling, financing and prototyping.

Makowi—short for “Marktplatz der kooperativen Wirtschaft”—is our practical reference model for connecting offers, demand, financing and economic participation within the cooperative and common-good economy.

### Digital Sovereignty

We help organizations understand and reduce their dependence on dominant technology providers. Our services include sovereignty assessments, practical roadmaps and the gradual migration towards open, interchangeable and community-owned digital infrastructure.

We want to redistribute ownership and power in the digital economy. We believe that enterprises and digital infrastructures can be democratic, sustainable and oriented towards the common good.
