Naloxone Training for Trans and Non-Binary People
This session will be delivered by Scottish Drugs Forum, and will teach you about how to administer naloxone, a medicine that can save lives in the event of an opioid overdose.
Thursday, April 9, 2026, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM (UTC+00:00)
Created by: Trans Healthcare Access Glasgow
Fiscal Host: The Social Change Nest
About
The training is designed to cover information you need to be able to carry Naloxone, a medicine that can save a life when administered to someone who is experiencing an opioid overdose. It is especially relevant for anyone who may be at risk of overdose or knows anyone at risk of overdose, but anyone may wish to get training and carry Naloxone for emergencies. This session is for trans and non-binary people only and will be delivered by a trainer from Scottish Drugs Forum.
Alongside information about how to administer Naloxone, you will also learn more about opioids and similar types of drugs, and recognising the signs of an overdose. The session will consist of watching a presentation, which includes some videos. There will be discussions of substance use, drug overdose and drug-related deaths, and images and videos of needles.
This is a masked event and if you are able to mask, please do so (ideally FFP2 - we will have some masks to give out on the night). If you are feeling unwell, we would ask that you do not attend.
Full attendance instructions are given once you have registered for a place. Please get in touch if you have any questions!
