Part of speech tagging across Vale and Vale Server

Published on October 12, 2020 by Hossep Dolatian

Vale uses prose to do part-of-speech tagging, while Vale Server can use LangaugeTool to do part-of-speech tagging. I'm curious how the POS tags can be maintained across the two NLP systems. Are there any known conflicts between prose and La...

About

Vale brings code-like linting to prose while emphasizing speed, extensibility, and data privacy. Its approach differs from many related tools in significant ways:

  • Vale doesn't attempt to teach you how to write; it's a tool for writers. It allows its users to create and enforce their own rules, ranging from entire editorial style guides to a specific set of in-house guidelines.
  • Vale respects your data in ways many other services and tools simply cannot: All of its processing takes place offline and locally - meaning that your content is never sent to a remote server, stored, or otherwise inspected.
  • Vale is free, open source, and actively maintained.

The goal of this collective is to help me (@jdkato, the sole developer behind Vale) dedicate more time to improving, documenting, and supporting the project.
