About

Welcome to Workshop 299, a shared space for fun workshoppy things! Here's some basic info about how things work:

What's included: the workshop is stocked with various tools, including a miter saw, hand tools, a floor jack, and other random gadgets.
Sharing tools: You're welcome to use whatever is in the workshop! And feel free to add your own tools so long as (1) you're chill with others using them and (2) they are generally well organized and do not block any other tools. There is also a sectioned cubby area at the back of the workshop for any materials and stuff you'd rather keep private - try not to overflow into the project space or other people's cubby areas though.
Chaos avoidance: The workshop consists of a small space with a workbench and tool storage, and a larger 'project' space, big enough to fit a vehicle. To avoid chaos, please use our fun calendar system to reserve the project space, eg. if you're working on building something and need a large area for a few consecutive days.
Any other projects or things that take less than a day will be drop-in anytime, and sharing space is encouraged. If you want to make improvements to the space or shuffle stuff around to be better organized, that'd be absolutely welcome. If you don't have the project space reserved, make sure it's cleared out when you leave - good rule of thumb is a vehicle should be able to fit comfortably without having to move anything out of the way.
Landlord's area: The landlord reserves the corner of the workshop, by the door, for his own things. Please don't touch or add anything here!
Accessibility: there are two small steps into the workshop upon entering. The workshop is quite old and has a damp/musty smell, but the sliding doors open to allow tons of fresh air in.
