About

We are raising money to redistribute wealth to those in need across our SE15 postcode.

Who we are:

  • We are a solidarity fund that works to address wealth imbalance in our local area.
  • The fund was set up by a few SE15 neighbours who met through local mutual aid groups created in response to the pandemic.
  • We are 100% volunteer run and put the needs of neighbours at the centre of everything we do.
  • We've raised over £80,000 since forming in 2020, and distributed it directly to over 150 residents across SE15.
  • We are crowdfunding money to redistribute wealth to those who need it most in our community this winter.

How we work:

We rely on monthly and one-time donations from individuals and small businesses with secure finances in our community. Anyone living in SE15 can then draw a £50 grant each from this fund during times of financial difficulties, based on the principles of trust, solidarity and respect.

We grew from a need to create something different in our community. There are fewer barriers to accessing our help, only proof of residence in SE15, and this means we can respond quickly to support neighbours.

“[The SE15 Community Fund] will help me keep my gas and electric facilities on as due to my illness I cannot do without my heating”

What we are crowdfunding for:

The continued cost of living crisis means increased pressure on the most vulnerable in our community, and when combined with the rising heating bills that winter brings, we predict the need for support will be greater than ever.

That’s why we’ve decided to target raising £1k this December. The reason for this target is it is roughly the difference between our monthly income and the level of applications the fund receives. If your circumstances allow please consider becoming a monthly contributor too so that the fund can be one step closer to becoming self sustaining.

We all know how hard it can be to make ends meet in London – 1 in 7 jobs pay less than the London Living Wage. People can’t afford to wait when their heating has been shut off or they have no food in the fridge.

By backing this cause you will ensure that dozens of people will be able to support themselves over these coming months by buying food, heating, clothes for children, or other necessities needed to live safely.

“[The SE15 Community Fund] has made a big difference to helping me get food for me and my daughter and top up my electricity”
