About
York Together are on a mission to create a space for people in York to participate, learn and act together to challenge injustice, and create the conditions for better systems to emerge across York. This group has recently been formed to build on the work of various innovative and creative areas of activity in York. York Together is a recently constituted but unincorporated network of changemakers and this role will work with all Members to embed and fund the work that is needed. We are currently supported by the Lankelly Chase Foundation who have devolved £400,000 to the collective to support change in York.
York Together commits to the following principles:
- Redistributing resources, knowledge and power to local people, organisations and networks that have previously been under-resourced.
- Ensuring that there is adequate funding, training, and upskilling opportunities to support local changemakers.
- Removing barriers to participation through providing the infrastructure so that our communities can be together
- Taking a conflict resolution approach across our work, paying as much attention to how we work as to what we do, centring relationship-building and transparency to support collective wisdom.
